Peach

Universe: Super Mario

Debut:  Donkey Kong (1981)

Aliases: Princess Toadstool

Gender: F

Species: Human

Affiliations: Mushroom Kingdom

Availability: Starting fighter

Background: Peach is the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She is typically finding herself kidnapped by either Donkey Kong or Bowser (though there have been others like Booster from Super Mario RPG). She seems oblivious and naive to many things and loves anything pink and cute. Though constantly being rescued by Mario, she does not display any deep romantic interest in him. After conquering 8 worlds and defeating a giant fire-breathing lizard, a thank you and a peck on the cheek hardly seems like fair compensation.

Reasoning: She is a key character from the Super Mario universe and is popular among some SSB players.

Probability: CONFIRMED!

Thoughts: I hate her personality, with such annoying phrases like “Yeah! Peach has got it!” and “Did I do that?” and yet I don’t mind her in SSB. Her frying pan is a useful weapon and her ability to float can come in quite handy. Her final smash though is so incredibly useless. I hope it will be changed if she returns. Maybe Empress Peach from Mario Strikers where whe could sprout her wings and shoot hearts with translucent speed trails in all directions bouncing around. That or her RAGE emotion from Super Princess Peach where she would be on fire and could get increased attack and would stun those grounded around her when she lands, but would not be able to float for as long or use her parasol. Just a few suggestions Sakurai.
